Be Part of Something Bigger Than Yourself: Web Resources

We are all a part of something whether it is our workplace, church, or even our family…we have a place that we can associate with or that we belong to that is greater than ourselves. I feel blessed to be a part of all the organizations mentioned and it is a privilege to feel the support.

Outside of the personal organizations I am also part of a professional organization, National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). NAEYC is a membership organization that connects people with research on the newest trends and issues in policies and current practices in the early childhood field. Below I have added a video outlining all of the levels of membership offered.

Newest Issue

Covid-19 seems to be back on the rise again as we approach the flu season. As an educator I have been taking precautions, but it is difficult to keep children away from each other all day and to limit their exposure to touching pretty much anything. One of the issues that recently caught my attention on the website is an article about how to create developmentally appropriate practices (dap) while still protecting children and providing high-quality education. NAEYC gave considerations and questions for early learning programs to use as they plan for best practices. If you are intereseted in creative ways to safely work with children take a look at some of the questions answered by NAEYC.

  1. Hi Susaye,
Thank you for sharing your resource. I have been a NAEYC member for years too. I refer to their site almost every week. I also subscribe to the Young Childen magazine. It always provides current and interesting articles. Thank you for sharing the COVID 19 articles. I read the one on staff preparedness to compare with my facility’s procedures.
